Caribou! When a herd of a few thousand caribou hit us, we had a hard time rĉaching a lake that would feature drinkable water. A long day with 14 hours of portaging and paddling brought us to a rocky lake that the caribou seemed not to have crossed. Completely drained, we were drinking huge quantities of water.
