Another long portage route awaited us after we were forced by the ice to
find a new route. Since a map for this route was missing, we were not sure if
we would find the outlet of the headwaters of the Baillie River fast. So we
decided to follow another route that Jan had looked at some time ago. This
route took us to a nameless River of which were sure it would flow into the
Back River by way of the Baillie.
A few days of carrying from lake to lake and a few portages along a small
creek brought us to this nameless river. The headwaters of this River were
particulary interesting since they were formed by very narrow, long lakes
with high banks.
